We want to officially welcome all of you to TD Edge’s 2022 Fall Season and to thank you all for your patience and understanding over the last few weeks, while we have been working to fully integrate the merger of the Texas Dawgs and Edge into our new “TD Edge” family.
The last 6 weeks have been insane for this organization. We have held of over 30 scheduled on-field tryout sessions, a large number of private evaluations, 13 controlled scrimmages, 16 hours of uniform fittings, hundreds of phone calls, and many late nights at TDSA discussing coaching assignment, roster composition and what is best for each player. The result of this work is 300 committed ball players composing 27 teams and palpable excitement about the start of something special. Through this entire process, we have never lost focus of our priority, our players, and making decisions that are best for them in all circumstances. We have been humbled by the great response and interest in TD Edge and will never take lightly the support and confidence you have all shown in becoming a part of the organization. We could not be more excited to get started. We are particularly excited for the next few weeks where we will be working with the boys on organizational approaches to hitting, cuts, pick off plays, baserunning and situational defense. We will also do some conditioning and arm care work. Additionally, we will be sending a communication about our new Virtual Combine program that will allow the boys a data repository for their analytical data. Formal field practices and facility sessions will begin the week of Labor Day with initial league or tournament games will begin around the middle of September. In addition to our thanks to all of you, we want to thank all of our directors and coaches for all of their hard work over the past month. This organization is blessed with directors, coaches and an administrative team that is fully committed to giving our players and their families a first-class experience. We are so excited to get started.
We are extremely pleased and excited to announce that both Edge Baseball and the Texas Dawgs will be combining under the umbrella of Texas Dawgs Baseball, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit select baseball organization. The combination will enhance the strengths of both organizations and create the premiere option for baseball players from age 8-18 in the greater Katy, Fulshear, Richmond and West Houston areas.
The new organization will allow players not only to take full advantage of TD Sports Academy for exceptional training opportunities but will also allow for the athletes to have access to the full suite of data driven analytic training tools, currently available to Edge players, including the use of Rapsodo technology. In connection, with this combination, Rob Kerrigan will remain as the Chairman and President of the 501(c)(3) and Travis Bailey will assume the role of Head of Baseball Operations and will lead all aspects of baseball administration. Beginning with the fall 2022 season, teams from 8U - 18U will compete under the name of TD Edge Baseball. In the coming weeks, we will be providing much more information about our leadership team, coaches and plans for fall, including information about tryouts. In the meantime, we will remain focused on all teams finishing their spring season and world series events and conducting our normal season ending activities and reviews.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Texas Dawgs. We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and is looking forward to starting our Spring 2021 baseball season just after the New Year.
While 2020 has been regrettable in so many ways, the Dawgs were lucky enough to have an outstanding inaugural year. We are so humbled by the positive response from so many to our organization and can’t believe in one year we have gone from 2 to 8 teams. This growth will not change, but will only enhance our efforts at player development on and off the field, communication and transparency. We are very excited about what 2021 will bring for the Dawgs organization both on and off the field, including the opening of TD Sports Academy the Dawgs indoor/outdoor training facility home in February. More info on that in the coming weeks, but needless to say we are getting very excited about it. We are so very appreciative and thankful for all of our coaches, players and families and everyone that has helped us launch and make this organization special. We believe it is the people and families involved that create the environment and culture that make people want to join the Dawgs. Hoping this holiday season brings our Dawgs family a time of peace, joy and rest. Please try to trade time from our crazy world to enjoy family and friends, even if it is virtually because of the virus. We hope everyone can take time to remember special times of the past, make new memories and look forward to what is to come in the New Year, especially Dawgs baseball. Bring it on 2021, the Dawgs are ready. Our theme for the new year is “Culture Matters” and you will be seeing that on our 2021 season t-shirt we will unveil next week. The Texas Dawgs Fall 11U Takes Batting Practice at the Sugar Land Skeeters' Constellation Field11/20/2020
The Dawgs want to commend the hospitality of the entire Skeeters staff that made the experience truly unforgettable for the entire team. Thank you to Chad for arranging the event and Sherine for providing the photography.
There are many very special and pure things about the great game of baseball, chief among those things is the way the love of the game is passed between fathers and sons.
Our Dawgs family has so many special dad/player, granddad/player, stepdad/player relationships and today we want to celebrate all of our dads, granddads and stepdads by wishing them a great and enjoyable Father’s Day and thanking them for all they do to support our Texas Dawgs organization. Our gift to our dads/granddads and stepdads is that their sons and grandsons will be on the field this Father’s Day weekend advancing that special bond by playing the game. Enjoy every minute of it and always remember to tell your player how much you love to watch them play. Go Dawgs!!!!
The plan was always to continue to grow our organization and try to field additional teams that share in our core beliefs and values. We are very pleased to announce this addition and hope to continue to grow our footprint in terms of teams and, hopefully, facilities.
Please join the coaches and me in welcoming Coach Tyler to the Dawgs Family.
Part of the mission of the Texas Dawgs is developing excellence on and off the field. None of that excellence is possible without a great example at home to model.
We know that we have the best moms and we are so thankful for all they do to raise the quality players that we have in our organization. We are always aware, even if we don’t say thanks every day, of the countless trips back and forth to the field, all the dirty laundry, making sure all the gear is in the bags, packing the coolers for the baseball weekends and screaming cheers from the stands. So on their special day, we want to say thanks and let them know how special they are. We appreciate all you do and we love you so much. Happy Mother’s Day to all of our moms, step moms and grand mothers. ![]() When the Texas Dawgs were founded, we adopted a Mission Statement and Core values, which included a focus on the importance of giving back to the communities in which we play and understanding the value of service in building young men of character. In adopting these standards and values, we require all of our players to perform community service in order to be a part of our organization. For our spring season, our first service project was gather equipment donations for The Recycled Baseball Items Foundation (RBI) and Recycled Sports Items (RSI), fellow non-profit organizations. RBI and RSI are committed to keeping the Greater Houston Area's underprivileged youth off the streets, away from gangs, crime, and drugs, while offering them a positive and viable alternative in the form of participation in baseball/softball and other sports. RBI accomplishes this by providing baseball, basketball, football and other sports equipment, instructional sports clinics and college scholarships to those who are exemplary in both academics and sports. ![]() To support the cause of RBI and RSI, the Texas Dawgs engaged in a month long equipment drive requesting that players and families donate lightly used sports goods. On March 15th, RBI and RSI Foundation (RBI) picked up the items gathered by the Dawgs. The Dawgs Organization donated over 150 items to RBI and RSI. The items donated included gloves, bats, helmets, catcher’s gear, cleats, pants, protective gear and training aids. We are hopeful these items will help further the outstanding mission of RBI and RSI. We are so proud of our players and their families for their commitment to this project and their desire to support our community. Our players are truly “Embracing the Standard” of what it means to be a Texas Dawg!!! We are looking forward to our next community service project. ![]() Learn more about your studly 11U Texas Dawgs by checking out their slick top-notch Texas Dawg official player profiles available now on the roster page!
